Walter W. Conrad

Walter W. Conrad, 84, of Highland, IL died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.

Walter was born October 19, 1926 to Walter H. and Sally (nee Dutton) Conrad in Hartford, IL.  On December 10, 1949 he married Gertrude Rose in Wood River, IL.

Walter was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wood River, IL.  He was a Foreman for Clark Oil and Refining, Hartford, IL, for 43 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Conrad, Highland, IL; 1 daughter, Julie (Dale) Netemeyer, Highland, IL; 1 granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Netemeyer, Highland, IL; 5 nieces, Sharon, Delores, Ruth, Edith and Francie; and 1 special cousin, Missie Peck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sally Conrad; and his sister, Edith Nichols.

Memorials may be made to St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

Visitation: Monday, April 4, 2011 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 5, 2011 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
