Verna Lee Done

Verna Lee Done, 83, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on September 29, 2026 at Alhambra Health Care, in Alhambra, IL.

She was born in Collinsville, at her family home on April 5, 1942. Verna got her undergraduate degree at SIUE, then went on to get her Masters Degree in Education at University of Illinois. She spent 35 years as a dedicated and respect teacher at District 9 in Granite City, IL.

She loved to travel, read, and spend time outside. Teaching was her love, it made her happy, touching the young lives to make a difference.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jule and Hilda Tegemeier; siblings, Norton Done, Milton Done, Leonard Done; nephew, Martin Done.

Verna is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lynn Roulanaitis; granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Roulanaitis; great-grandchildren, Lily Nevaeh Paparigopoulis, Tyler Joseph Wood, Alexander Jacob Wood; sister-in-law, Rose Marie Done; niece, Francine (Gary) Done-Muggenburg; nephew, James (Sue) Done.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Visitation: Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 23, 2026, 11:00 AM, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Interment: Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL.
