Stephen Wade Hatton (Tank) 71, of Alhambra, IL, passed away early on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 25, 1954 in Highland, IL, to William Hatton and Marilyn Weis (nee Zbinden). On Dec 31 st 1982, he married Deborah (Debbie) Renko in Bolingbrook, IL.
Steve was a musician for many years before settling down in Highland with his wife Debbie. Once in the area he took a job as Parts/Service Writer at Aljets Automotive in Dorsey, IL.
They moved to their newly built house on the Renko Farm property in Alhambra in 1994 when the boys, Justin and Jared, were young. He enjoyed being outdoors and teaching the kids how to fish, work on vehicles of all kinds, and play the drums. He loved being around his grandkids. He provided his family a great life as a husband, father, and grandpa. Steve spent his retirement years fishing and playing drums in a local band, The Last Resort.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marilyn Weis and William (Rosie) Hatton.
Steve is survived by his wife, Debbie Hatton, Alhambra, IL; children, Justin Hatton (Jessica) and Jared Hatton (Alanna); grandchildren, Elly May Lynn Junge and Jemma Lynn Hatton; sisters, Kathy Galeana, Highland, IL and Kay Allen (Jon) Quincy, IL; step sister, Sandra Plocher, Germantown, IL as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
