Shirley A. (Buchmiller) Tschannen

Shirley A. (Buchmiller) Tschannen,  age 80, of Highland, IL died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL.

She was born November 21, 1930, in Saline Township, Madison County, IL, the daughter of Roy and Eleanora (Weidner) Buchmiller

On September 10, 1949, she married Felton (Hap) Tschannen.

She grew up on the family farm north of Pierron and graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School, Pierron, IL.  She was employed at GTE as a telephone operator, worked in Dr. Hediger and Dr. Hammond's office as a receptionist, was a Wal*Mart door greeter, and served as the Saline Township Clerk for 27 years.

She is survived by: her husband, Felton “Hap” Tschannen; her son, Robert “Robbie” (Special friend Trish McKnight) Tschannen, Breese, IL; her sisters, June (Chester) Miller, St. Charles, MO, Carol (Leonard) Carrillon, Carlyle, IL, Louise (Joe) Haar, Breese, IL, Jane Bircher, Highland, IL; her brother, Val (Theresa) Buchmiller, Highland, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy P.  and Eleanora E. Buchmiller (nee Weidner) Buchmiller;  her sister, Connie Lape; her brother, Thomas Buchmiller.
