Sharon Lynn Box was an extraordinary woman whose warmth, kindness, and vibrant love for life touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. With profound sadness and deep respect, we celebrate her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind following her passing on October 9, 2026.
Born on June 23, 1956, in Paris, Illinois, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Joellen Campbell and the late Tommy A. Campbell Sr. She graduated from East High School in Rockford, Illinois, in 1974, beginning a life marked by compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to care for others. Throughout her career as a CNA and Unit Secretary at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and later at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois, Sharon devoted herself to helping others. She retired in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and excellence in healthcare.
Above all, family was the cornerstone of Sharon’s life. She was a devoted and loving mother to her three daughters, Heather Lawhon, Shannon (Scott) Headlee, and Brandy (Joey) Wayland. Her six grandchildren - Seth Headlee, Jalain Thompson, Shelby (Nathan) Wayland, Gregory Thompson, Hailey Greifzu, and Spencer Headlee - were among her greatest joys, and her five great-grandchildren brought her endless happiness and pride. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her unwavering love and gentle strength guided her family through life.
Sharon shared a special bond with her siblings, Tonya (Tonya) Stewart and Les (Phyllis) Campbell, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was a woman whose heart knew no bounds, someone who never met a stranger and would gladly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her generosity, warmth, and ability to make others feel welcomed and valued were among her most treasured qualities.
In her free time, Sharon enjoyed thrift shopping, crafting, and baking, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life and expressing her creativity in everything she did. Yet nothing compared to the happiness she found in being surrounded by the people she loved.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved father, Tommy A. Campbell Sr., and her brother, Tommy A. Campbell Jr. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family and friends, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain forever.
Sharon Lynn Box will be remembered for her boundless love, generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel special. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion, family, and love. Though she is no longer physically with us, her legacy will live on through her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Visitation for Sharon Lynn Box will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL.
