Ruth Tompkins, 51, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL.

Ruth was born March 6, 1965, to Telfer and Alice (Nee Belk) Tompkins, Sr., in St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Telfer and Alice Tompkins, Sr.

She is survived by her brother, T. Lynn (Shiryl) Tompkins, Jr., Lake Wood Village, TX; nephews, Garrett Lynn Tompkins, Kellin Riker Tompkins; cousin, Patty Farabee, Highland, IL.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Visitation: Friday, July 29, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 30, 2016, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Funeral: Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Meridith Funeral Home.
