Ruth Irene Polacek

Ruth (nee McGee) Polacek , 88, of Swansea, IL, passed away on May 17, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

She was born September 24, 1933 in Collinsville, IL to Walter Edward and Natalie (nee Harrelson) McGee.  Ruth married Dan Dean Polacek, Sr. on March 26, 1950 in Walnut Ridge Arkansas.

Ruth worked for Martha Manning Company in Collinsville and later at the AARP office in Edwardsville.  Lastly she was employed by Ambassador Marketing Company in St. Louis as a Marketing Researcher.  She loved playing bingo, fishing and camping at Kentucky Lake and especially the trips to Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Polacek, Jr.; granddaughter, Emma Marie Keller; sister, Maleane O’Gara;  nephews Willie and Mike Tyson.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Dan Dean Polacek, Sr.; daughter, Bonnie Polacek; sister, Esther (William) Cormier; brother-in-law, Theodore O’Gara; grandchildren, Christy, Lynn, Patricia, Natalie, Danny III and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Saturday, May 21, 2022, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.
