Roy F. Merwin

Roy F. Merwin, 63, of Alhambra, IL died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.

Roy was born November 7, 1949 to Felton H. and Elda J. (Nee Matter) Merwin, in Highland, IL.  On July 3, 1971 he married Linda L. Rheinecker at Holy Angels Catholic Church, E. St. Louis, IL.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livingston, IL.  He graduated from E. St. Louis High School and then from SIU–E.  He was a Country Insurance Agent for 41 years, a member of Life Underwriters Association and BCCA (Beer Can Collectors of America.  He enjoyed gardening, Bar-B-Que, feeding birds, trout fishing and all nature.  He enjoyed all forms of Brewery and Beer collections.  He enjoyed his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Merwin, Alhambra, IL; 2 children, Dana (Chris) Brindley, Highland, IL, Robert (Fiancé Heather Lux) Merwin, Marine, IL; 2 grandchildren, twins, Faith and Vance Brindley; 2 sisters, Marie (Lou) Holdener, Betty Pinkel; 1 sister-in-law, Marilyn Merwin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felton and Elda Merwin; 2 brothers, Dale and Glenn Merwin; 1 brother-in-law, Richard Pinkel; 1 sister-in-law, Jerrie Merwin.

Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation: Monday, June 10, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL and Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 9:00 to 10:00 am. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livingston, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livingston, Illinois
