Rosemary C. Berberich

Rosemary C. Berberich (nee Schroeder), 79, of Lebanon, IL, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Lebanon Care Center.

Rosemary was born June 1, 1936, to Oliver G. and Magdalena J.(nee Zotz) Schroeder, in Mascoutah, IL.  On April 28, 1956, she married Bobby Berberich at the New Baden Methodist Church, New Baden, IL.

She was a member of the St. Clair Farm Bureau.  She grew up on a farm and became a farmer’s wife.  Rosemary had worked at St. Clair Farm Bureau as a secretary/bookkeeper, and also at St. Clair County Service Company in the tax department.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband to show the tractors he had restored and working at the exhibitor registration table during the Mascoutah August Fest.  She liked being outside doing various activities including gardening.  She was well-known for her gooseberry pie.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (John) Ruth of New Baden, Janet (Richard) Schmitt, Jr., of Lebanon, and Bonnie Berberich of Lebanon; grandchildren, Sarah Ruth, Jacob (Natalie) Ruth, Kimberly (Eliot) Deters, James Ruth, Jennifer (Tom Hinkle) Kraemer, and Nicholas Schmitt; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and David Ruth, Zoey Deters, Kaelyn, Lorena, and Johanna Kraemer; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Berberich (1994); son, Thomas Berberich (1978); parents, Oliver G. and Magdalena J. Schroeder; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lois Schroeder.

Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Fire Department, Lebanon Education Foundation, or Donor’s Choice.

Visitation:  Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday, October 5, 2015, from 8:00 to 10:30 am, at the Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

Funeral Service:  Monday, October 5, 2015, at 10:30 am at the Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.
