Rose Marie Chadwick, (nee Postawko), 92, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, surrounded with love by her family.
She was born on Friday, January 13, 1933, in Madison, IL, to parents Louis (Peewee) and Mary (Mamie) (nee Kula) Postawko. Rose Marie lived a life full of joy, love, and tenacity, never afraid to stand up for what she believed in. On March 17, 1950, she eloped with the love of her life, Ronald M. Chadwick, whom she was married to for 60 years.
Rose was known for the contributions she made to her community through being a member, and Past President of several charitable organizations over her lifetime such as the Collinsville Red Cross Board of Directors, Collinsville Junior Service Club, GFWC Collinsville Women’s Club, Mother of Perpetual Help of Maryville Altar Society, and Friends of the Collinsville Historical Museum. She also was proud to serve through civic duty, being a Collinsville Democratic Precinct Committee Person for over 40 years, also serving time as an elected Collinsville Township Trustee. Quite the go-getter, she even had her own catering & cake company for some time and co-owned it with one of her best friends.
Rose was a lifelong catholic, a member of Mother of Perpetual Help in Maryville for over 50 years, helping others celebrate the faith through being a PSR teacher and extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. She loved spending time celebrating life, whether it was planning a party, going on family vacations to the Lake of the Ozarks, or just in her conversations filled with laughter, wisdom, and wit. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald M. Chadwick; parents Louis and Mary Postawko; sisters, Lorraine and Carolyn; and daughter, Rosemary Chadwick.
