Rodney Lynn “Root” Bequette

Rodney Lynn "Root" Bequette, 45, born July 21, 1968 in St. Louis, MO, died Friday May 9, 2014, at his home in Fairview Heights, IL.

Rodney was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan.  He loved country music, fishing, bingo and gambling.  Rodney was a loyal patron at Wings of Shiloh.  Rodney’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.  He was baptized into the Christian faith as a young man.  Rodney was a gift from God and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Rodney was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Albert and Dorothy (Nee Kimbrel) Bequette; his wife, Tammy Bequette (Nee Missey); 1 brother, Albert Joseph Bequette.

He is survived by his loving brother, Edward J. (Tyra) Bequette, Fairview Heights, IL; Pamela Ponder (Michael Neary) Bequette, Belleville, IL; his dear nephew, Austin J. (Amy) Bequette, Shiloh, IL; nephew, Ian E. Bequette, Belleville, IL; niece, Lindsey B. N. (Bill) Adams, O’Fallon, IL; niece, Kandace (Eric) Ortiz, South County, MO; 3 great-nieces and nephews, Clayton Adams, Layla & Connor Bequette; plus his dear friend Crystal Joellenbeck Pitcher and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and adoring friends of Wings.

Visitation: Monday, May 12, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 8:00 to 10:30 am at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

Funeral: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:30 am at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.
