Robert L. “Bob” Bare

Robert L. “Bob” Bare, 92, of West Salem, IL, passed away on November 14, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Robert was born on January 26, 1930, two miles north of Bennington, IL, he was the second son of Roy and Lillie (Morris) Bare.  He married Anna Mae Paddick on February 27, 1953, at the EUB Church in Parkersburg, IL and she survives. They were married for 69 years.

Bob was a hard-working man and worked as a roughneck in the oil field for many years.  He was mechanic and some would say he could fix anything, and he would say “I have some parts left over, what should I do with them”.   Bob worked at Champion Labs as a setup man and retired from there after 20 years. He enjoyed his family and friends.  He was a member of the Marion Christian Church but had been unable to attend church the past few years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Bare, three sons; Steve Bare, Brad (Karen) Bare, David (Melissa) Bare, one daughter; Rena Beth Schroeder, six grandsons; Kyle (Christina) Bare, Gregory (Kary) Bare, Michael (Jessica) Bare, Ian (Brandi) Bare, Eric (Heather) Schroeder, Matt (Ashley) Schroeder, and one granddaughter, Jana Bare, three great-grandsons; Cameron Bare, Hunter Bare, Ezra Bare, two great-granddaughters; Ella Schroeder, Elizabeth Bare, two sisters; Sue Scott and Doris Greifzu and one brother Gerald Bare, and very special nieces and nephews and he loved them all.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lillie Bare, daughter-in-law Tena Bare, son-in-law Rick Schroeder, four brothers; George Bare, LeRoy Bare, Neil Bare and Kenny Bare.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday November 19, 2022, Ingram Meridith Funeral Home, West Salem, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marion Christian Church Cemetery
