Randall E. “Randy” Parton, 56, of Highland, IL, formerly of Salem, IL, passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
He was born September 2, 1969, son of Charles and Carol (nee Stahlhut) Parton. On July 19, 2013, he married Kathy Norton in Edwardsville, IL.
Randy has lived in Highland since 2011. He grew up in Marion, IL, active throughout school in baseball and basketball, graduating from Crab Orchard High School class of 1987. He went on to earn his Associate’s degree from John A. Logan Jr. College. Randy attended SIU-Carbondale before going to work as a Driver for CCX, Con-Way Freight, XPO Logistics, for 23 years. He then worked as Regional Sales Manager for SkySystemz doing credit card processing. The last few years he and Kathy were enjoying retirement.
An outdoorsman, Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, and traveling. His most notably hobby was following the stock market. Every day he would spend hours on the phone with his father discussing stocks and he belonged to multiple online organizations that talked about stock trends. Randy was fun, kind, supportive, and loved his family. He thought a lot of his nieces and nephews and was very close to his father and father-in-law. Randy will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Parton, and mother-in-law, Karen Norton.
Randy is survived by his wife, Kathy Parton; father, Charles Parton; father-in-law, James Norton; sister, Rhonda Parton; brother-in-law, Bill (Cheryl) Norton; sister-in-law, Dana Schaubert; many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Per Randy’s wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held.
