Ramona K. Cornish

Ramona K. (nee Abbitt) Cornish, 89, of Mary Esther, Florida, died Saturday, February 29, 2020, at her residence.

Ramona was born January 22, 1931, to Virgil and Waldena (nee Barris) Turner.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Church of God and Christ, Washington Park, IL. She was a very inspirational woman, God fearing, loving, kind, generous, and nurturing. The epitome of a Christian woman. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; each a precious gift from God.

She is survived by her children, Wilson R. Cornish, Belleville, IL, Walt E. Cornish, O’Fallon, IL, Regina K. Cornish, Springfield, IL, Cathryn E. (Raymond) Hernandez, Moore, OK, Andree G. Cornish, Lebanon, IL, George G. Gregory (Robin) Cornish, Kewanee, IL, Kimberson S. (Zenaida) Cornish, Mary Esther, FL; 34 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; host of great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Waldena Turner; husband, Charles “Old Soldier” Cornish; daughter, Carla R. Cornish; son, Charles Winston Cornish.

Visitation: Friday, March 6, 2020, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Lebanon, IL.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 6, 2020, at 12:00 noon, Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Lebanon, IL.

Interment: College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
