Rachael Greenwood

Rachael Greenwood, 42, of Cisne, IL. passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, after an unexpected illness at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Rachael was born June 22, 1982, to Steven Schell and Valerie (Eikleberry) Schell Eikleberry at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Rachael married Joshua Greenwood on May 22, 2021, at Judi Schells’ house.

Rachael was a homemaker, and she also worked at Dollar General in Cisne, IL.

Rachael enjoyed cooking and listening to music, loved to go fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Rachael is survived by her husband Joshua Greenwood of Cisne, IL; a son Matthew James Ellis (fiancée Audrey  Ellsworth)  of Flora, IL.; two step sons Bryce Greenwood of Fairfield, IL, and Maddox Greenwood of Flora, IL; her father Steven (Jamie) Schell of Tuscumbia, AL, mother Valerie Eikleberry of Cisne, IL; a sister Samantha (Craig) Richardson of Fairfield, IL; and a brother Logan Colbert of West Salem, IL; her mother in law Barbara Shiers of Xenia, IL; her grandparents Judi Schell of Johnsonville, IL, Ray and Sherryl Jungwirth of Cisne, IL, Jim and Lavada Smith of Dundas, IL; she is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, special friends and co-workers.

Preceding her in death was her infant daughter, Delilah LeeAnne Ellis, her grandfather’s Roy Schell, and Larry Eikleberry, and father-in-law Lewis Greenwood.

Visitation: Will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home, Cisne, IL.

Funeral Services: Will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial: Will follow in Cisne Cemetery.

Memorial Donation in memory of Rachael may be made out to Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home to help with expense’s and will be accepted the day of services.
