Nancy R. Monroe

Nancy Ruth Monroe (nee Terry), age 79, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at her home in Lebanon, IL.

She was born August 23, 1941, in DuQuoin, IL, to Cecil Emmaline Hodges and John Troy Terry. She married William Ray “Bill” Monroe in Lebanon, IL, on June 6, 1958. They had one daughter, Terri. Nancy was the oldest of 5 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Monroe; three brothers, Allen Troy Terry, Orval Ray Terry, and Adren Osco Terry, all formerly of Mascoutah, IL; two beloved nephews, Charles Allen Terry and Joseph Allen Terry.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Monroe, Lebanon, IL; sister, Naomia Lorine (Terry) Severs; niece and nephews, Wendi Rae (Severs) Burgess, Jacob Thomas Severs, John Allen Terry, Michael Ray Terry, and Troy Anthony Terry; as well as, nephews from her husband’s side of the family, Lenny Andrews and Michael Andrews.

Burial will be in College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL, in a private ceremony for immediate family, due to the current Covid pandemic.
