Nancy Lee Cornwell

Nancy Lee Cornwell, 79, of Flora, IL passed away on April 25th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on January 1st, 1947, to Harold and Erma Cunningham in Fairfield Illinois. She was the first baby born in Wayne County that year.

 Nancy lived and worked in Wayne, Effingham, and Clay County, before becoming the owner and operator of the Ranch Motel in Perryton, TX. She then returned to Clay County where she purchased and ran Harmony Home in Flora, Illinois, along with being an in-home caregiver for many years. 

Nancy loved to travel and experience new things with her friends and family. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed leisure time at home, camping, sitting on the porch, and watching the wildlife with her companion Shadow. 

Nancy leaves behind her brothers Jim (Judy) Cunningham of Eastvale California, John Cunningham of Bossier City Louisiana, and Joe Cunningham Sr of Breese Illinois. Her children Beldora (Tony) Grove of Marion, Illinois, Ed (Tammy) Boose of Olney, Illinois, Scott (Maria) Boose of Flora, Illinois and stepdaughter Kimberly (Joe) Enderle of Galion, Ohio. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Erma Cunningham, lifelong partner Garland Cornwell, brother Frank Cunningham and sisters-in-law Nancy, Carol, and Dot Cunningham, and two stepson’s Tim and Jeff Cornwell Nancy was deeply loved and her spunk and smile will be greatly missed. Until we meet again momma, “Love you the most est, and we’ll see you in the AM!”
