Michael L. Benhoff, 76, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 16, 1949, in Breese, IL, to Leonard and Marie (nee Sudholt) Benhoff.

Michael lived a life defined by dedication, love, and quiet strength. A proud United States Air Force Veteran, he faithfully served his country for 20 years, including during the Vietnam War and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. His service reflected the values he carried throughout his life — honor, integrity, and commitment.

After retiring from the Air Force, Michael continued his hardworking ways with B-Line Manufacturing Company, where his reliability and strong work ethic earned the respect of everyone around him. He approached every job, big or small, with the same determination and pride.

Though he took great pride in his service and work, Michael’s greatest joy was always his family. He loved spending time with them any chance he got — especially doting on his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. Whether gathered around the table sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments meant everything to him.

Michael enjoyed the outdoors and the peace that came with it, and could often be found relaxing while watching his favorite old shows on MeTV. He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a kind heart, a loving father, grandfather, and brother. His legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marie Benhoff; brothers, Leon Benhoff, Mark Benhoff, and Maurice “Speedy” Benhoff; and brother-in-law, Mike Stefanisin.

Michael is survived by his children, Roy (Julie) Benhoff, Mam Tyler, and Jim (Gary Strickland) Benhoff; grandchildren, Bjorn, Brayden Benhoff, Alaya (Carson) Snider, and Arielle Tyler; siblings, Mary Ellen Stefanisin, Mel (Mary Jean) Benhoff, Matthew (Lori) Benhoff, and Marlene “Susie” (Tim) Bequette; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
