Mary Jane Carrell

Mary Jane Carrell, 97, of Cisne, IL passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Petersen Health Care in Cisne, IL.

Mary Jane was born March 1, 1926, to Dias Dale and Zelma A. Lorene (Clay) Burton in Cisne, IL. She married Rancel Carrell on September 29, 1946, at Flora Christian Church, he preceded her in death on July 2, 2017.

Mary Jane was a retired Special Education Teacher. She taught at Olney Central College, Cisne High School, and Frontier College for over twenty years. She was also a housewife and mother to their two sons Vance and Stanley. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Geff, IL, Wayne County Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Pleasant Grove Ladies Group.

Mary Jane is survived by her son Stanley Carrell of Cisne, IL; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death was her parents, husband Rancel, son Vance. and one sister Dortha Lee.

Visitation: Monday, April 3, 2023, 12:00 noon to service time at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Monday April 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne, Il.

Burial: In Cisne Cemetery

Memorial may be given to Pleasant Grove Church in memory of Mary Jane and will be accepted at the funeral home.
