Mark Vincent Cheney

Mark Vincent Cheney, 65, of Albion, IL, took his final ride on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born June 3, 1957, to Vincent and Della Sue Cheney in McKean County, PA.

Mark attended the House of Prayer, Albion, IL, Nazarene Church, Fairfield, IL.  He walked with the Lord and Jesus was in his heart.

Mark, often known as Dick, loved by many as Pops, told “his story” to anyone who would listen. He would say, “I was born in 57 on the bad side of the Bradford River. I didn’t make it to the hospital in that 56 Ford.” Pops spent most of his life as a roughneck and in his last years he grew into a gentle giant. Mark loved simple things, his porch, gardening, cat Oliver, family, his Harley motorcycle, and Jesus. “Get Ready for The Ride”

He is preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Della Sue Cheney; two brothers Clark Cheney and John Cheney; sister, Laurie Sutton; and former wife, Maria Abraham.

Mark is survived by children, Jennifer Taylor, and David Compton; grandchildren, Isaiah Tapia, and Abby Compton and many nieces and nephews.

Family may hold a celebration of life at a later date.
