Margaret "Jane" Trost

Margaret “Jane” Trost, 92, of Gravois Mills, MO, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Alhambra Rehab and Healthcare, Alhambra, IL, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on March 7, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, to Owen and Sylvia (nee Dunlap) Dorsey. On June 12, 1954, she married Oscar Trost.

Jane was a member at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Laurie, MO. She belonged to Elks Lodge for over 30 years and was Lady Elk of the Year 2003-2004. She loved to volunteer at Share the Harvest for many years. She always volunteered at Christmas Enchanted Village of Lights at the park. Jane loved to bowl when she was younger, played shuffleboard and darts. She loved to bake, especially during holidays. Jane loved her grandchildren. After many years she finally shared “The Family’s Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe”. It was the Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. She loved to ride the bus down to Oklahoma to the casino with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Sylvia Dorsey; husband, Oscar Trost; sister, Patricia Martin; sister-in-law, Maureen Dorsey.

Jane is survived by her sons, Dan A. Trost, St. Louis, MO and Bob (Deb) Trost, Highland, IL; grandchildren, Jacob, Cole, Mackenzie Trost; brother, Owen Dorsey, Jr., Cumberland, MO; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Laurie, MO.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, October 5, 2026, 11:00 am, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Laurie, MO.

Interment: St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Laurie, MO.
