Louis H. Monken

Louis H. Monken, 57, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his residence.

Louis was born October 29, 1956, to Calvin O. and Frances M. (nee Pattberg) Monken, in Highland, IL.

He worked in construction as a carpenter.  He also served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a daughter, Emily Jean Brummitt, Granite City, IL; a granddaughter, Laney Kay Kluth; 1 sister, Mary Plog, Pierron, IL; 2 nephews, Nathan Schuster and Gerald Barkley, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Frances Monken; a brother-in-law, Paul Plog.

Memorials may be made to the family or St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
