Lora Sue Grove

Lora Sue Grove, 82, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at her home.

Sue was born July 12, 1938 at Geff, Illinois to Herman and Myrtle (Crews) Hawk.  She married Bernard Grove July 15, 1956, at the Geff Christian Church in Geff, Illinois and he survives.  They enjoyed almost sixty-five years together.

Sue was a housewife and worked many years at Koehler in LaSalle-Peru as a seamstress. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield, Illinois.

Sue loved sewing and quilting.  She made and gave away many quilts.  She was a loving and caring mother and wife.

Sue is survived by her husband Bernard Grove of Cisne, Illinois; one daughter Peggy Sue (Gary) Chronic of Forest Park, Ohio; two sons Charles Eugene (Nancy) Grove of Springfield, Illinois, and Kenneth Ray (Bea) Grove of Cisne, Illinois.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, David Grove, Alex Grove, Tracy (Derrick) Stevens, Krystle (Nate) Kellum, Brandon Chronic, Ryan (Kathryn) Grove, Amanda Grove, Sarah Grove; four great grandchildren Ashton Grove, Abigale, Rachel, and Nathaniel Stevens.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers Chester Hawk and Tommy Hawk, and one sister Wanda Grove.

A private funeral service will be held at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home followed with burial in Cisne Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given to Oblong Children’s Christian Home at Oblong, Illinois and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
