Loyd M. DeRossett, 66, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

He was born on February 4, 1960, in Centerville, IL, to Louis and Helen (nee Swan) DeRossett. On June 22, 2002, he married Tanya Hiatt-Irvin.

Loyd will be remembered as a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was spending time with those he loved most. He was a loyal Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan but could also be found cheering enthusiastically from the stands at his grandchildren’s sporting events. He took great pride in keeping a beautiful lawn and enjoyed spending time tending to and mowing his yard. Loyd had a special place in his heart for animals and adored each one of his beloved pets. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved beyond measure and never missed an opportunity to spoil. His kindness, unwavering love, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Patti DeRossett, Helen and Martin Rick; siblings, Liz DeRossett, Robert DeRossett, Billy DeRossett.

Loyd is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Tanya DeRossett; children, Barbie (Chris) Voellinger, Joshua Schwinn, Nick (Amanda) Hiatt, Brooke Hiatt; grandchildren, Austin (Carly) Nix, Alexis (Trent) Noeltner, Camden Schwinn, Alaina Schwinn, Leila Hiatt, Jackson Hiatt, Braylee Hiatt, Catherine Hall, Leah Jones; great-grandchildren, Trace Noeltner, Lilly, Oaklyn, Myles; siblings, Kenny (Tracy) DeRossett, Judy DeRossett, Dana Moyer, Barb (Jimmy) Beadle, Lewis (Kim) DeRossett, Kim (Brian) DeRossett; special aunts, Shirley Stoner, Melba Mueller; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DeRossett Family.
