Linda L. Simmons

Linda L. Simmons, 76, of Pocahontas, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

She was born on August 2, 1949, in South Roxana, IL, to Loren “Dick” and Virginia (nee Keller) Cuthrell.

Linda was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews taking immense pride in each of them. They were truly precious to her and she cherished every moment with them. Over the years, Linda held various jobs. She worked at Burr Fur Co until it burnt down, she helped run a gas station/convenience store and other factory jobs. In her later years, her compassionate spirit continued to shine as she lovingly cared for elderly individuals. She also had a special love for her cats, who were more than pets to her, and she cared for them with the same warmth and devotion she showed to everyone she loved. Linda loved to crochet, knit, embroider and line dance.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Priscilla Plocher and Rosemary Rieke; and brothers-in-law, Darwin Plocher and Neal Rieke.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Simmons; sons, Kelly (Amber) Kuhn and Dennis Kuhn; grandchildren, Dalton Kuhn, Kelsey Kuhn, Karaleigh (Jerry) Dennis, Logan (Hannah) Dorries, Jaqui Sabnal, Paityn Jansen, and Alex Jansen; siblings, Robert (Donna) Cuthrell, Virginia (Richard) Heinz, and Lowell (Debbie) Cuthrell; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bond County Humane Society.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL
