Lawrence H. “Slim” Pollmann, 78, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Faith Countryside Homes, Highland, IL.
Slim was born November 6, 1935, to Herman and Wilhelmina (nee Frerker) Pollmann in New Baden, IL. On May 30, 1983, he married Shirley Iberg at Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL.
He was a very intelligent man and an electronics wizard. He liked to build motorcycles, watch motorcycle racing, NASCAR, golf, and gardening. He was an animal lover especially with Sarah and Daisy.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Pollmann, Highland, IL; 3 children, Terry Pollmann (Special friend, Angie Johnson), Pam (Roland) Richter, Kris (Fiance Dawna Pruett) Pollmann; 1 stepson, Charlie Klein; 2 grandchildren, Jacob (fiance Andrea Verdeyer) Richter, Megan (special friend Zach Quirin) Richter; 1 step grandchild, Matthew Klein; 1 brother, Frank (Bernice) Pollmann; 1 sister, Rosemary Olliges; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Wilhelmina Pollmann; 1 son, Curtis Pollmann.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Clinton County Humane Society.
Visitation: Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL, and Friday, July 11, 2014, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, at St. George Catholic Church, New Baden, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, July 11, 2014, at 10:00 am at St. George Catholic Church, New Baden, IL.
Interment: St. George Catholic Cemetery.
