Kent Leslie Marks

Kent Leslie Marks, 54, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, in West Salem, Illinois.

Kent was born September 30, 1971, in Olney, Illinois, to Gene and Imogene (Vaughan) Marks. He grew up in the Edwards County area and spent his life farming. Kent was a member of Marion Christian Church. He served as a past president of the Edwards County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Edwards County School Board, and served for many years on the Wabash Valley Service Company Board of Directors. Most recently, he started MFI Ag, a track hoe and land management business.

Kent is survived by his wife, Mattie; his children, Sadie, Clay, Ellie, Sydnie, Mitchell, and Ava; his sister, Becky (Tom) Smith, niece Lily Smith; and his siblings Billy Eblin , Carol Bailey, and Steve Marks. He is also survived by extended family members Chuck and Becky Holley; Preston and Cassie Nelson; Caesyn and Cy Nelson; Caelyn (Kinser) Medler; Carrie Holley. Kent also leaves behind his loyal farm dog and sidekick , Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sibling, Judy Atkinson. Visitation for Kent L. Marks will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem, Illinois.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial afterward at Macedonia Cemetery in West Salem, Illinois. Casual dress is encouraged, as Kent would have preferred.
