Kenneth M. “Matt” Anders, of Highland, IL, passed away suddenly, on Friday, August 7, 2026, in Highland, IL.
He was born on November 26, 1964, at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, IL, to Kenny and Brenda (nee Bryant) Anders. On September 14, 1985, he married Diane Hart in Blackwell, AR.
Matt was the founding member of the Papa Club. Being a Papa was his pride and joy. He followed all his grandkids’ sporting events. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. Matt was a great son and husband, who is loved dearly. He was a great Dad, always there for all his children, he made sure they had the best childhood. He loved to play Santa Claus. Matt was very thoughtful and quite the character, so proud of his bunch (kids & grandkids). He was the glue to the family. Matt was encouraging and the peacekeeper. He loved to fish and play guitar. He wanted to be where his family was. Matt was very close to his father. He also loved his motorcycles!
He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Marie Anders, in infancy.
Matt is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane Anders, Highland, IL; parents, Kenny & Brenda Anders, Highland, IL; children, Kenneth “Matthew” (Mallory) Anders, Jr, Highland, IL, Brenda Ann (Dustin) Banovz, Staunton, IL, Brittany Grey Anders, Highland, IL, Kimberly Melissa (Adam) Allen, Alhambra, IL; siblings, Carman Joyce (Gary) Wuebbels, Fairview Heights, IL, Mark Alan (Stacey) Anders, Germantown, IL; grandchildren, Hailey, Lucas, Camielle, Audrey, Wyatt; nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
Visitation: Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and Friday, August 14, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL
