Karen L. File

Karen L. File, 72, of Greenville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Karen was born on August 6, 1953. She graduated from Bond County Unit 2 High School in 1971. On November 23, 1972, she married the love of her life, William File Sr., and together they shared more than 53 wonderful years of marriage.

Karen is survived by her husband, William File Sr. of Greenville, Illinois; children, William (Dana) File Jr. of Camby, Indiana, Jennifer (Richard) Bryant of Wentzville, Missouri, Hope (Joshua) Belcher of Greenville, Illinois; grandchildren, Brooke (James) Hale, Regan Belcher, Tyler (Maddie) Bryant, Shelby Heller, Julius Belcher, William “Tripp” File III; great-granddaughter, Camryn Hale.

Karen’s faith and family were the center of her life. Anyone who knew Karen knew her deep love for Jesus and her desire to share that faith with everyone she met. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to serving others. She operated an in-home daycare, cared for the elderly, volunteered in local churches, and faithfully served as Vice President of Circle of Love Ministries until her passing.

Karen will be remembered for her unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and the love she showed to her family, friends and community. Her legacy of faith and compassion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made to Bond Christian Service Camp or Meadow Heights Baptist Church of Collinsville.
