Karen Sue Bare

Karen Sue Bare, 52, of Albion, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at her home in Albion, Illinois.

Karen was born on March 10, 1974 in Olney, Illinois to Roy and Sue (Gumbrell) Carter.

Karen was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Albion, Illinois. She was a health assistant at WADI for over 15 years. Karen was a big fan of 80’s hair bands and loved going to concerts anytime she could. She liked going to movies, shop, especially for shoes and always wanted to get her nails done.

Karen was married to Evan Bare and they spent many happy years together. Survivors of Karen are her husband Evan; her children Kevin (Dionna) Pickering, Rusty Mecum, Sarah Mecum, and Jack Mecum; grandchildren Mya, Aiden and Neveah; her in-laws Roger and Evelyn Bare.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sue Carter; and a brother, Darrell Carter.

Visitation for Karen Bare will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Ingram Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois.
