Juanita (Meadows) Loyet, 89, passed away on August 30, 2025 at her home in Alhambra, Illinois.
Loyet was born January 28, 1936 in Collinsville, Illinois. She graduated from Collinsville High School in 1953. After graduation she worked at Gowan Lumber Company in Collinsville as a bookkeeper. Later she worked for several years at Lefton Iron and Metal Company in East St Louis, Illinois in accounts receivable. Loyet was a long-time member of the local chapter of the national Beta Sigma Phi sorority and served on the board of the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery for many years. She was an avid reader and an enthusiastic genealogist. She also volunteered for many years at the Collinsville Historical Museum.
Loyet is survived by her children Kathrynn (Scott) Silverwood and Dianne (Charles) Ehlschlaeger, Kenneth (Ruth) Loyet and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Loyet, as well as her sister Janice (Bo) Chadwick of Dover, Tennessee, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James George Loyet and son, James Andrew Loyet, as well as her parents, Luke Meadows and Alice Meadows Simpson, and her sister Mary (Frank) Dunaway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9am, August 9th, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and funeral services will follow at 10. Interment will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
