Joyce Ruth Shreve

Joyce Ruth Shreve, 93, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Axiom Rehab and Health Care in Flora, IL.

Joyce was born March 13, 1932, at Johnsonville, IL. to Fred and Blanche (Vaughn) Pond. She married Lester Gayle Shreve on May 7, 1949, in Wayne City, IL. They shared 73 years of marriage together before his passing on March 28, 2022.

Joyce retired from Plainfield Molding Company in Plainfield, Il. Joyce and Lester owned and operated J&L Ice Cream Shop in Cisne for 15 years. Joyce enjoyed quilting, crocheting, doing puzzles and word searches, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by a daughter Nikki Freeman of Plainfield, Illinois; three sons Larry (Debbie) Shreve of Leland, Illinois, Doug (Kim) Shreve of Plainfield, Illinois, and Rodney (Beth) Shreve of Cisne, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Gayle Shreve, parents Fred and Blanche Pond, her siblings Duane Pond, Dwight Pond, Betty McCord and Kay Koontz, and a son-in-law Terry Freeman.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at 12:00pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Thomason Cemetery near Wayne City.

Memorials may be given to Axiom Healthcare of Flora, IL. Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
