John W. Carter, 52, of Highland, IL, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

He was born March 29, 1963, in St. Louis, MO. On February 12, 2012, he married Rena Ward in Highland, IL.

John was a great dad, husband, and friend. He worked hard and played hard. He had a love for riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, and drinking Mt Dew.

He is survived by his wife, Rena Carter, Highland, IL; mother, Kay Carter, Pocahontas, IL; children, Jared C. Carter, Highland, IL, Brandi-Wave M. (T.J.) Cox, Carlyle, IL, and Jessica Carter, Highland, IL; grandchildren, Caleb Carter, Colby Turner, Jordan Cox, Gage Cox, Ryker Cox, Shane Bowling; brothers and sisters, Robin Beam, Tulsa, OK, Mary Foltz, Centralia, IL, Barbara (Will) Gomilla, Greenville, IL, Karen Willmont, St. Jacob, IL, Roger (Katie) Carter, Staunton, IL, Paula (Jason) Brooks, Highland, IL, Patrick Carter, Pocahontas, IL, Eric (Jeannie) Harder, Westminster, CA, and Katherine Smith, Idaho; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his fur-baby, Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Carter (2012).
