John F. Janini

John F. Janini, 93, of Collinsville, IL, born December 10, 1932, in Duquoin, IL, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026, peacefully at his home in Collinsville, IL.

John was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean War as a gunners mate on the USS Marshall. He was also a member of Carpenters Local 295. John loved the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman who loved fishing in his kayak.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (nee Kirton) Janini, whom he married on February 19, 1955, and his parents John and Dominica (nee Albastro) Janini.

Surviving are his three children, a daughter, Wanda Carron of Collinsville, IL; a son, Tony (Barb) Janini of Troy, IL; a son, John (Angela) Janini of Collinsville, IL; four grandchildren, Nathan (Michele) Janini of Highland, IL, Kyle (Meghan) Donovan of Collinsville, IL, Nick (Courtney) Janini of Collinsville, IL, Ashley Janini of Collinsville, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Kendall Janini of Highland, IL.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

A private family service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
