Joan V. Kohler, Nee Schmidt

Joan V. Kohler, nee Schmidt, 68 of Highland, IL died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.  She was born in Columbia, IL on April 9, 1939 to Alois and Ardell (Kissen) Schmidt and they are both deceased.   She married Frank Kohler February 22, 1966 and he survives.

Also survived by two daughters and one son; Pam (Chris) Balkenbusch, Highland, IL;  Beth (Mike Willey) Chartrand, Dettmer, MO;  Mike (Bessie) Kohler, Mt. Vernon, IL; eight grandchildren - Brandy, Christy, Nicholas, April, Tony, Ashley, Zachary and Austin;  three great grandchildren, Trevor, Mickala and Daniel; one sister - Sally Schmittling of Waterloo, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Tammy Marie Kohler; a sister, Gloria Tilley

She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at Robin's Restaurant in Salem, IL.  She enjoyed going to the Casino Queen, playing Bingo, and going to yard sales.

VISITATION:  Monday, November 26, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 27, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

FUNERAL MASS - Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL

Memorials may be offered to American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation.
