Jay M. Mayberry

Jay M. Mayberry, 53, of Pocahontas, IL, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia, IL.

Jay was born January 30, 1962, to William and Bonnie (Nee Shinn) Mayberry in E. St. Louis, IL.

He attended services at United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL.  He worked as a landscaper and later became a painter for several years.  Jay played in various bands throughout the years.  He loved playing guitar and singing and played the harmonica on occasion.  He was an animal lover.  He loved water sports and riding dirt bikes.

He is survived by his sister, Marcia Ross, Centralia, IL; niece, Amy (Dan) Eller; great-nieces, Emma and Greta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bonnie Mayberry.

Memorials may be made to Bond County Humane Society or Food Pantry.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.
