James W. Boyle, Sr.

James W. Boyle, Sr., 81, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Liberty Village, in Maryville, IL.

He was born on October 27, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL, to Joseph Perry and Dora Mildred (nee Lucas) Boyle, Jr. On June 14, 1975, he married Judith Moss, in Collinsville, IL.

James was a loving and selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved to golf and especially enjoyed spending time hunting with his son. James was happiest when keeping busy, whether working around the house, fixing something that needed repair, or helping a friend or neighbor. He also had a permanent seat at the Red Bar, where he enjoyed the company of the many friends he made over the years. James will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Judith Boyle; parents Joseph and Dora Boyle, Jr.; son, Michael Christian Boyle; grandchild, Randi “Rie” Hostetler; siblings, Mildred Joanne Boyle, Carol Jane LaFuria, Susan Juanita Anderson.

James is survived by his children, James Wayne Boyle, Jr., DeAnn Marie Cole, Christina LaRosa; grandchildren, Jessica Kruse, James Boyle, III, Jamie Elizabeth Marie Boyle, Josh Boyle, Jimm Cole, Nicholas Davis, Lauryn Davis; great-grandchildren, Lorelei Kruse, Jozzalyn Boyle, Trianna Boyle, Zakary Boyle, Kayden Cole, Kynadie Gallagher, Henry Cole, Liam Hostetler; siblings, Joseph Perry Boyle, III, Judith Lee MacManus; sister-in-law, Susan Kay Boyle; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation: Monday, October 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, in Collinsville, IL.
