Ila Ruth Porterfield

Ila Ruth Porterfield, 99, of Mt. Erie, IL. passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in the Skilled Care Unit.

Ila Ruth was born October 10, 1926, to Charley Hendricks and Lela (Marvel) Hendricks in Mt. Erie IL. She married Darwin Porterfield on November 4, 1942, in Cisne, IL. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1992.

Ila Ruth was a Homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and taking care of her flowers. She was a member of Brown Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Erie, IL.

Ila Ruth is survived by one daughter Junanne Cisne of Lewisburg, TN, two sons Billie Joe (Sharon) Porterfield of Washington, IL, and Keith (Kathy) Porterfield of Fairfield, IL; son-in-law Rich Cisne of Cisne IL; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son Robert “Bob” Porterfield, six sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral home in Cisne, IL.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00am. at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery near Mt. Erie, IL.

Memorials may be given to Donor’s Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
