Horace P. “Buster” Jones

Horace P. “Buster” Jones, 70, of Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Buster was born October 19, 1944, to Horace P. and Lela N. (nee Norris) Jones, Sr. in Waco, TX. On January 30, 1972, he married Linda Monroe at Lebanon Pentecostal Church, Lebanon, IL.

He worked as a mechanic for JC Penney for several years. He loved to help people by fixing their cars. He loved to draw and could draw house plans like an architect. He loved people.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jones, Lebanon, IL; 2 children, Eric (Tammy) Jones, Waterloo, IL, and Sheri Schmitt, Aviston, IL; 5 grandchildren, Ashley & Nick Schmitt, Ricky and Laura Acton, and Jamie (Joey) Brown; 5 great grandchildren, Kaley, Steven, Jayden, Keith, and Abbey; 1 sister, Jackie; 1 sister-in-law, Kandee Jones; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Lela Jones, Sr.; 1 son-in-law, Larry Schmitt; 1 sister, Donna Jones; and 1 brother, Jeff Jones.

Gathering of friends and family: Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Lebanon, IL.

Burial will be at a later date.
