Hazel D. Smith

Hazel D. (nee Burns) Smith, 86, of Lebanon, IL, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center, Lebanon, IL.

Hazel was born February 18, 1930, to Aubra and Hazel (nee Robinson) Burns, in Lebanon, IL. On February 15, 1958, she married Madison “Smitty” Smith in E. St. Louis, IL.

She was a member of the Greater Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lebanon, IL, and a member of Eastern Star.

Hazel was an absolute Jewel. Mother of 10, Grandmother of 22, Great Grandmother of 7, and Great, Great Grandmother of 3. She was an outstanding cook, loved her family and her church, sang in the choir, and was a good friend.

She is survived by her Husband, Madison “Smitty” Smith; Children, Roscoe (Jackie) Smith, Charlotte Washington-Armstrong, Ethel Washington, Linda Washington, Paul (Addie) Smith, Wendy Gulley, Juanita (Ronnie) Henry, Jeanine McCall, Ann Elizabeth Morrow.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Aubra and Hazel Burns; Daughter, Rhonda Clarkson, 2 grandchildren, brothers and sister.

Visitation: Friday, February 10, 2017, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, at the Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Lebanon, IL.

Funeral Service: Friday, February 10, 2017, at 11:00 am, at the Church.

Clergy: Rev. Dr. W. J. Griffin, Pastor.

Interment: College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
