Harold R. Bellm

Harold R. Bellm, 84, of Highland, IL, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL.

Harold was born September 10, 1929, to Raymond and Leona (nee Brave) Bellm in Highland, IL.  On July 23, 1951, he married Jean Snelson in Highland, IL.

He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and the Highland VFW.  He started in flooring working for Roland Harris, and went to school to become a Master Flooring Specialist.  He then opened Bellm Flooring and Interiors with his wife, Jean, and was in business for 45 years.  He worked part-time with Carson Pirie Scott, Inc. and J. P. Stevens, Inc., all while owning his own business.

He loved to go to his cabin to fish and hunt mushrooms.  He also enjoyed the outdoors and camping.  He enjoyed travelling and loved his family vacations.  He liked to cook and make homemade wine.  He loved his family especially his grandkids and his Kitty, Jasmine.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Bellm, Highland, IL; 2 daughters, Pamela Bellm Morgan, Highland, IL and Debra (David) Barth, Highland, IL; 3 grandchildren, Michael D. Barth, Jennifer R. Barth, Eric C. (Emily) Morgan; 1 aunt, Betty (Jim) Voss; 4 nieces, Mary (Jim) Allen, Dotte Jean Bellm, Sandy Bellm, Carla (Dean) Haukap.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Leona (nee Brave) Bellm; 1 brother, Duane Bellm; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy Bellm; 1 son-in-law, Lloyd C. Morgan.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation:  Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL, and Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, at Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL.

Funeral Service:  Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL.

Clergy:  Rev Leonard Laetsch, Pastor, Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL.

Interment:  Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL.
