Harold C. Hitz

Harold C. Hitz, 93, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.

Harold was born July 13, 1916, to Christian and Matilda (nee Kraus) Hitz, on Decks Prairie, Highland, IL.  He married Ethel Landolt in 1938 at Grantfork United Church of Christ, Grantfork, IL.  She died in 1996.  On March 22, 1997, he married Velma Ambuehl at his home in Highland, IL.

Harold was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ, Grantfork, IL.  He was a lifelong farmer and dairyman.  He loved to garden and play any kind of card games.  And he loved to talk about the "old days".

He is survived by his wife, Velma, Highland, IL; one daughter, Donna Hitz, Highland, IL; one sister, Dorothy Niggli, Highland, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was pre-deceased by his parents; first wife, Ethel; one brother, Milton Hitz; and one sister, Verna Landolt.
