George D. West

George D. West, 69, of Mt. Carmel, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2022, at Oakview Heights Nursing and Rehab, in Mt. Carmel, IL.
He was born April 18, 1952, to Dale and Elizabeth (Smith) West in Mt. Carmel, IL.

George was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1972. George absolutely loved the St. Louis Cardinals; and watching TV and movies was his favorite past time. He attended workshop and worked at WAVE Recreation Club for many years. The staff at WAVE, River Oaks Community Integrated Living Arrangement and Oakview Heights loved him and will miss him dearly. George was a gentle, quiet, giant of a man, who was always friendly and could make you smile on your worst day.

He is preceded in death his parents, Dale and Elizabeth West; sister, Carol Ann West.

George is survived by his step-mother Mary West; and many friends in and around the Mt. Carmel area.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WAVE Recreation Club.
