Gary L. File

Gary L. File, 70, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at his residence.

Gary was born June 23, 1945, to Lawrence and Dorothy (nee Clayton) File in Highland, IL.  On March 2, 1968, he married Evelyn “Sue” Hock at Immaculate Conception Church, Pierron, IL.

He was a family man and loved his grandkids.   He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.  He was a Chicago Cubs baseball fan and liked westerns. He worked for Basler Electric Company for 49 years, starting at age18.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn “Sue” File, Pocahontas, IL; his daughter, Donna (Charlie) Kalous, Pocahontas, IL; his son, David A. File, Pocahontas; grandchildren, Brianna and Adam Kalous; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy File; brothers, Don File and Joe File.

Memorials may be made to Robinson Cemetery or Pocahontas Community Center.

Visitation:  Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday, August 28, 2015, from 8:00 to 10:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Funeral Service:  Friday, August 28, 2015, at 10:00 am, Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

Interment:  Robinson Cemetery
