Faye Taveggia

Faye Ann Taveggia, 87, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in hospice care at Anderson Hospital, in Maryville, IL.

Faye was born on January 10, 1939, in Collinsville, IL. Her parents were Henry and Thelda (nee Dickerson) Taveggia. She lived in her home at 612 Illinois Avenue, Collinsville, IL, until suffering a stroke six years ago. Thereafter, she resided in assisted living, most recently at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, IL.

Faye was employed most of her life working in accounting as a civil servant in downtown St. Louis, MO. However, while working full-time, Faye also loved preparing income taxes during tax season. She spent nearly fifty years as a tax preparer for H&R Block where she had many repeat clients who became friends.

Faye embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. Amongst her many talents and hobbies, she bowled on a league for many years bringing home many trophies, but her true passion was her life-long love of golf. She also enjoyed taking art classes and also liked to play cards and games and loved taking her chances on the slots at the casino. She enjoyed turning even a fishing trip into a fun competition.

Above all, Faye cherished spending time with family and friends, creating memories filled with stories, laughter, and love. Her gentle spirit, love of fun, eternal hope and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Thelda Taveggia; sisters, Jeannie Taveggia and Marcia Taveggia. Faye is survived by her sister Lenise (Don) Works; nephew Anthony (Kris) Viviano; and great-nephew, Trenten Viviano.
