Evelyn "Vell" Von Hatten, (nee Cumbee) 65, of Highland, IL died December 31, 2009 at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL.  She was born July 30, 1944 in Cairo, IL to Harry and Mildred (nee Reeves) Cumbee.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry H. Cumbee, one brother - Eugene "Buster" Lamb, three sisters, Betty, Marilyn and Sherry.

Survived by:  Her Mother, Mildred Shepard, Greenville, IL; Children - Donna Conlee, Sorento, IL; Lynda Connor, Annapolis, MO; Kenny Porter, Pierron, IL;  Lyle Porter, Jr. Granite City, IL; 2 Step-Daughters - Paula Porter, Granite City, IL;  Pam Porter, Granite City, one Step-Son, Robert Porter, Edgar Springs, MO; 16 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren: one sister, Lynda Buttermore, Granite City, IL.

Her usual occupation was a private care giver in private homes.
