Erna H. Schaefer

Erna H. Schaefer, 94, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.

Erna was born December 18, 1921, to Gustave and Martha (nee Thomas) Schiller in Sexton, Germany and married to Robert Schaefer at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL.

Erna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and dancing with her late husband. She also had a love for chocolate.

Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schaefer; 2 sons, Philip Schaefer and Brian Schaefer and brother, Alfred Schiller.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis (Virginia) Schaefer, Peoria, AZ, Steven Schaefer, Tucson, AZ; daughters, Linda (Jim) Ginalick, Glen Carbon, IL, Pam Goben, Hartford, IL and sister, Lucille Solomon, Perrysburg, OH.

Memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice or Highland Health Care Center, Highland, IL.

Graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas, IL.
