Eldon “Wayne” Whitmer

Eldon “Wayne” Whitmer, 66, of Albion, IL passed from this life to the next on November 14, 2019 at his residence.

He was born May 22, 1953 in Greenville, KY to Macy (Slone) and Carl Whitmer. He married Laura Ready on September 12, 1983 in North Aurora, IL and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2003.

Wayne was a machinist. He was also an avid fisherman.

He is survived by one daughter, Amanda (Reison) Adriano of Albion; three sisters: Sandy, Tabitha, and Dianne; and two brothers: Greg and Jeff. Wayne is also survived by his grandson, Cole Adriano who was his world and gave Wayne the nickname “Papaw.”

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Tony.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 17 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service and burial will take place Monday, November 18 at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City, KY.
