Edward M. “Ed” Willett

Edward M. “Ed” Willett, 65, of Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Ed was born March 21, 1947 to Joseph and Frances (Nee Hobbs) Willett, in E. St. Louis, IL.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL.  He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He worked at McKendree University as Director of Operations and graduated from McKendree in 1975.  Former member of Lebanon City Council, serving as an Alderman, member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and member Belleville/Swansea Loyal Order of Moose.

He is survived by 3 children, Amanda (Mark) McIntyre, Smithton, IL, Jason Willett, Lebanon, IL, Erik Willett, Lebanon, IL; 2 grandchildren, Cloey McIntyre, Adelyn McIntyre; 2 sisters, Loretta (Bill) Saul, Caseyville, IL, Jan Werkmeister, Portland, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Willett; 2 brothers, Joseph Willett, Kenneth Willett.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or McKendree University.

Visitation: Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 2, 2012, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL
