Edward E. “Ed” Streif

Edward E. "Ed" Streif, 66, of St. Jacob, IL, formally of Lebanon, IL, died June 18, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.   He was born in Lebanon, IL, September 17, 1942 to Leto E. and Myrtle (Friederich) Streif.

He is survived by: two sons - Edward Scott Streif - Lebanon, IL; John Robert Streif, Overland, MO; three grandchildren - Elyse Marie Streif; Nathan Scott Streif; Allison Kay Streif; two brothers - William "Bill" (Glenna) Streif - O'Fallon, IL; Linus "Bob" (Johanna) Streif - Lebanon, IL; two sisters - Lillian (Donald) Munie - Belleville, IL; Elizabeth Reitz - Nashville, IL; two sisters-in-law - Ruth Ann Streif - Lebanon, IL; Judy Streif - Granite City, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister - Charlene Streif in infancy; three brothers - Frederick Streif - in infancy; Leon Streif; Leland "Butch" Streif.

Ed was a Professor of Accounting at McKendree University, Lebanon, IL; Illinois State University; Webster University, and retired from St. Louis Community College; also was a farmer and restaurant owner.   He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon; Highland Moose and former member of Lebanon Lions Club.

FUNERAL:   Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 27, 2009 with Fr. Gene Neff officiating.   Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
